34 Reasons Why Beavers Are Similar To Human Beings

I would just like to take a moment, at the beginning of this post, to draw your attention to the new pages I have created at the top of the website, just below the header.

Please take a look at these links to all of the different animals I’ve covered:

A – https://humanimalsblog.wordpress.com/a/

B – https://humanimalsblog.wordpress.com/b/

C – https://humanimalsblog.wordpress.com/c/

Thank you,

rowords

1. Building In Water – Beavers can create dams, ponds and canals. Humans can also do this.

2. Floaty Resources – Beavers can float food and building material on water. Humans can do this too.

3. Beavering Builders – Beavers live in homes, called lodges, and build them just like humans do.

4. Timber! – Beavers can cut down trees and so can humans.

5. Savvy Swimmers – Beavers can swim and dive. Humans can do these things as well.

6. No Time For Sleep – Beavers do not hibernate and neither do humans.

7. Log Stacks – Beavers store sticks and logs in piles and so do humans. Maybe not for the same reasons, but this is still a similarity that I can get away with!

8. Swell Senses – Beavers have a good sense of hearing, smell and touch. Humans also have these.

9. Same Breed – Beavers are mammals and so are humans.

10. Keystone Species – Humans are a “keystone species” which means that they effect the environment around them and look after certain aspects of it. Some examples are that we look after pets such as dogs and cats or we grow and tend to certain plants. Beavers create wetlands by changing the habitat around them in order to build their dams, this means that they are also a “keystone species” because animals will live in these environments that they have made.

11. Champion Carrier – Beavers carry stones and mud in their front two limbs when they are building, much like humans would carry these in their hands.

12. Front Door – Beavers build entrances to their homes much like humans do.

13. Bathroom and Bedroom – Beaver lodges often have one area for a beaver to dry themselves off once they are out of the water, and another place for where the family lives. This means that they have the capacity to use different rooms for their various reasons, which humans can also do.

14. Home Insurance – Beavers repair damage to their homes, much like humans do.

15. America, America – Certain beavers have been known to live in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco and Colorado. Humans also live in all of these places.

16. Family Trees – Beaver families consist of one adult female, one adult male and their babies, which are called “kits”, “pups” or “yearlings”.

17. True Love Forever – The mother and father of a beaver family are monogamous, which means that they stay together for life, which in some cases is true for humans.

18. Widowed – If a beaver’s mate dies then they will partner up with another, which can be the same for some humans.

19. Brother From Another Mother – Beavers can have children with different partners, which is very rare, bearing in mind that they are monogamous and would only do so if their previous mate had passed away. This can also be the case for some humans.

20. Born Legacy – Beaver families can often be as large as ten, which can be the case for some humans.

21. Cheaper By The Dozen – If a beaver’s family is large then they may live in lots of different lodges, or homes, which can be the same for some human families.

22. Bit Of A Squeeze – A beaver family may also have a large number but they live in one lodge, or home, which can also be the case for some humans.

23. My House – Smaller beaver families usually only live in one lodge, or home, which can be the case for humans.

24. Super-parents – Both male and female beavers take part in raising their young, which can be the same for human parents.

25. Feed Me! – Human babies are dependent on their parents for food, which is the same for young beavers: “kits”, “pups”, or “yearlings”.

26. Pass It Down, Through The Generations – Beavers teach their young life skills, much like some human parents do.

27. Toys And Games – Young beavers play and so do young humans.

28. Copy Cats – Human babies, or children, copy their parent’s behaviour and this is the same for young beavers.

29. Stay At Home Siblings – Older beaver offspring may also live in their families and help their parents, which can be the same for older human children.

30. Big Brothers And Sisters – Younger human children may be looked after, on occasion, by their older siblings. This can also be the case with beavers.

31. Sticking Together – Beavers practice alloparental care, which means that if the parents die, or otherwise disappear, an older sibling may take over with the parenting. This can also be the case with human families.

32. Leaving Home Is Hard – When beavers leave home they don’t settle far away, which can be the same for some humans.

33. Hey, Neighbour! – Beavers can become familiar with their neighbours and will be prone to allowing them on their territory more often than strangers. This can also be the case for humans.

34. Superstars – Beavers have appeared in films such as; “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe”. Humans have also appeared in this film and films in general.

13 Reasons Why Polar Bears Are Similar To Human Beings

This is the fourth instalment of the “bear” section.

Here are the other different types of bear that are featured:

1.  Dinner And A Movie – Polar Bears court each other and so do some humans.

2. Do Not Disturb – Some humans like to mate in privacy and so do Polar Bears.

3. Wanna Have Fun – Polar Bear cubs like to play and so do human babies.

5. Frozen Wasteland – Polar Bears live in the Arctic Circle and so do humans.

6. Live On The Waves – Humans can spend many months at sea and so can Polar Bears.

7. Sexual Dimorphism – Polar Bears are one of the most sexually dimorphic mammals in the world, this means that there are clear differences between both sexes of the animal. For example; a female Polar Bear is almost half the size of a male Polar Bear and they also have different reproductive organs. Humans could also compare to this as both females and males have clear differences.

8. Handedness – Research has shown that Polar Bears tend to use their right forelimb more often than their left. This idea is called “handedness” and is the theory that one hand, or limb, can perform better than the other. Humans have been found to also choose one hand to perform certain tasks more frequently than the other.

9. Squeaky Clean – Polar Bears wash in water and so do humans.

10. Crustaceans – Polar Bears eat crab and so do humans.

11. Embrace Me – Polar Bears have been known to cuddle when sleeping and so have some humans.

12. Ancient Times – Polar Bears have been depicted in cave paintings and so have humans.

13. Family Fun – Humans have families and so do Polar Bears.

9 Reasons Why an Antelope is Similar to a Human Being

  1. Simple Senses – Starting off very simply, the antelope can smell, taste and hear which are three senses that humans also have.
  2. Body Parts – Antelopes have two eyes and a mouth which humans have as well! (I know this is slightly cheating but I do have some good reasons in here!)
  3. Danger Danger – Crocodiles, lions and hyenas prey on antelopes. Humans could also get eaten by these animals!
  4. Leg It! – An antelope will run away from danger and they don’t really have many defence tactics. I hope that humans would be a bit smarter about evading trouble, but I can relate the running to us!
  5. Elderly Antelope – Antelopes get slower as they get older, much like humans do!
  6. Dentistry – An antelope has very well developed molars for chewing grass. Humans also have these teeth in our mouths.
  7. Stand On Your Own Two Feet – Antelopes can stand up on their hind legs to reach up for food and also browse for it. Humans can also stand on two legs!
  8. Oooh Baby, Baby, B-B-B-Baby – An antelopes average litter size is one and twins are rare. This could also be said for humans.
  9. Shout It Out Loud – Antelopes communicate vocally with many different sounds such as; whistles, moos, trumpeting and barks. The majority of these sounds are vocal noises that humans can also make!

15 Reasons Why Ants are Similar to Human Beings

  1. World Domination – Ants have colonised almost every landmass on Earth which means that they can adapt to almost any habitat. The only places that ants cannot live are Antartica and a few islands that are inhospitable. This is very similar to humans as we can adapt to many different climates. Also, some ant species attack and try to take over their neighbouring ant colonies which is a clear comparison to humans as we declare war on other countries.
  2. Just Keep Swimming – Some ants can swim and so can some humans!
  3. Protective – Ants defend their homes from intruders as I believe humans would in the same situation.
  4. Unique – Although ants are all the same species they exist in lots of different shapes and sizes much like humans do!
  5. Special Skills – Ants specialise in lots of different skills such as foraging, fighting and building. Humans are very similar to this as we all have various passions as well as jobs that we do.
  6. Daily Grind – It is said that ants work all day, every day. This could also be said for some humans, although I hope that most of us get weekends off and I highly doubt that ants do!
  7. Minty Fresh – Some ants have the task of cleaning up after the whole colony. Now, I would hope that most human beings clean up after themselves and maintain their personal hygiene, but we also employ cleaners to keep areas sparkling for us!
  8. I Would Walk Five Hundred Miles – Ants walk in straight lines that could be compared to that of highways and roads built by humans!
  9. Unstoppable – The ants way of surviving in so many different climates and habitats is said to be because they can modify the environment to suit their needs, (which we can do with central heating!) they find and use resources (which we do by going out and shopping for it!) and defend themselves (which we do with our armed forces).
  10. Are You Talking To Me? – Ants can communicate by using sound. They don’t exactly create this sound in the same way that humans do, but it can still be related to us as they have the ability to communicate!
  11. Royalty – In an ants nest there will be a queen ant. This can be compared to humans as some countries in the world are ruled over by queens; such as England, that is ruled over by Queen Elizabeth II.
  12. Home Sweet Home – Ants choose the perfect site to build their nests and can create very complex structures. Humans are similar to this as we pick a home that we like and change it to suit what we want.
  13. Lost – All ants can make use of visual landmarks when they’re lost which is similar to humans because I’m sure we all retrace our steps by using sculptures and monuments!
  14. Jaws – Ants attack and defend themselves by biting which may also be the case for some humans!

Society – Colonies of ants are said to be the closest thing in nature to our own societies. Three different things may make this the case:

(a)  they divide labour between them. (This could be said for some humans although there are a few that are lazier than the rest!)

(b) they communicate with each other to get the job done!

(c) they have the ability to solve complex problems
